How to have happiness in your life

Your life story can be how you created a life of happiness and a life well lived. I know because it is my story. There are a few very simple things that anyone can do to change their life from a life of misery and unhappiness to a life well lived and a life filled with happiness.

Happiness is being at peace with yourself and the world around you. Happiness is also the absence of worry and problems.

How does a person quit worrying and solve problems?

First ask yourself what is worrying me or what problem do I need to solve. Once the worry or problem has been identified there are two questions to ask yourself, can I do anything about this or is there nothing that can be done?

If there is nothing that can be done, then there is one more that that you will do - close your eyes and in your mind use your imagination to pack this worry or problem into a box, bag or container and in your mind walk to the door, open this door and throw the container of worries into the river of life that is flowing right outside and watch it float away.

There is nothing you can do about this problem, so why would you want to hang on to it? Get rid of it and don't allow it to return without you immediately throwing it right back into the river of life and telling it to quit coming back. Believe me it will quit returning if you don't make any time for it in your mind. Give it a goodbye toss each and every time the thoughts return. An unsolvable worry or problem will stop returning if you don't make room for it in your mind and in your life.

How to take care of the worry or problem that has a solution.

Now what if you asked what can I do about this problem/worry and you came up with the answer - yes I can do something about this. Then you have two questions to ask yourself - am I willing to do what needs to be done to get rid of this worry/problem in my life or why am I not willing to solve this problem/worry?

If the answer was yes you can do something about this problem/worry then the solution is to do it right now. Don't wait for a later date or time if it can be done right now.

If answer is that this problem or worry can't be done right now ask yourself when it can be taken care of. Once it is decided when it can be done there is no reason to worry about this any more because you are going to do what it takes to solve this problem at the chosen time. There is no reason to worry about it any further. You then will take care of it according to how and when you decided the right time is. It's up to do it then. Don't put it off, don't wait any longer do it right then and it's done and you have taken care of this problem/worry.

The old way of worrying over problems is a habit. Learn to have the habit of being grateful.

Use these techniques to solve each of your problems and worries and you will find that your life will begin to fill with peace and harmony. As peace and harmony comes into your life you will want to acknowledge this wonderful life and way of living that you have achieved. All through the day and each morning and night think about what you have to be grateful for. Then say to yourself - I'm so grateful for having such a wonderful life and review in your mind the things that you are grateful for. Being grateful is something that you will want to tell yourself and those around you that your are feeling and enjoying. Let it be known to yourself and those around you about the things that you are grateful for. You will find that this will cause the things that you are grateful for increase and multiply.

Being grateful will allow you to live a life well lived.

Your mind will attract into your life the things that you think about. Make it your habit to think about the good things that you enjoying and the good things that you want in your life. One by one you will find more and more to be grateful for.

There will come a time in life that you will look back at the first day of your new life and think of how blessed you are to have a life well lived. A life well lived is a life filled with good habits, good deeds and good thoughts. A life well lived is a life of joy and happiness that you know you brought to yourself by your decisions and actions. Go and build a life well lived. It's all there waiting for you now that you have the master key to a life well lived.

Here's a fresh look at the power of our decisions

If you continue to put off handling the problem or what's worrying you.

There isn't anything that can be done because you are now choosing the life that you are living. You will need to make the decision that you are going to choose a new way of thinking and living before you can go any further. When will you be ready to choose a life of happiness and joy? Are you ready to choose the time of starting your journey to a live well lived?

You can stop blaming others for your unhappiness.

If you continue to allow the problem in you life and it's another person it's time to face the truth - it's no longer the other person. This is because they are not doing anything other than being themselves. We can't change other people. We can only change ourselves. Are you willing to change yourself right now? If not when will you be ready to change yourself?

Happiness doesn't come from outside yourself.

It is not another person who will bring you happiness. Your decisions will bring you happiness. Now you know how to make decisions that will bring you happiness. Are you going to start living a life of good decisions and happiness right now? If the answer is yes then you know what you must do follow through on your good decision.

If the answer is that you want to put off doing the thing that will start you on your path to happiness, then ask yourself when you will be able to make the decision to live a life free from worries and problems.

Each journey in life begins with a decision. The beginning of the journey determines the end. In Zen it is said that "the end of the path is determined with the first step on the path".

Life's journey is decided by each decision we make.

Let's look at this like traveling in a car. We decide where we want to go before we leave where we are. We don't just start wandering aimlessly about. This is true whether we are going shopping or on a long journey or on a hike. We have to decide where we want to go. Then we will choose the path, sidewalk, road, highway or freeway that will get us there. Let's say that we have chosen a path to walk on to get where we have chosen to go. How many paths are there to get there? Are the all safe or are some better and safer to travel on? Do we choose the most familiar path even if it has dangers on it? Do we travel the path with the most beauty and safety on it? If we encounter danger on the dangerous path who do we have to blame for putting us in the dangerous situation. This same analogy can be used in making choices of the people we choose to travel with. Is the person safe to travel with, are they fun or do we choose them because they are exciting and take us into dangerous and unsafe territory. Do you see how there is truth in the statement that we choose our own life and how we live it?

Do you choose to walk through the dangerous, fearfully, worry some neighborhood or will you decide to walk through the neighborhood of friendly, happy people? You life and happiness really are in your hands.

An example of one choice changing a persons life.

When I lived in California I knew a young woman who seemed to be making wrong choices in who she was dating and choosing to hang out with. She was a beautiful girl with a fun spirit, I saw so much potential in her. I offered to take her to Beverly Hills and meet some people there. I wanted for her to see that there was another side to life. I knew because I came from a place far from Beverly Hills and that lifestyle. Yet, I now had friends that I enjoyed who lived there. These friends were smart, friendly and a great variety of interests were the characteristics of these friends and we had great times getting together. This beautiful young girl declined saying that the people would probably be boring to be with. She said this without even meeting a one of them. She went on to marry a biker who loved the hard core Harley lifestyle, someone that I would consider a dangerous, moody person. He killed an elderly couple in a road rage incident and this beautiful, fun spirited girls life became one of lawyers, court dates and on and on. The path is chosen by the first step on it.

I wish you a good life with much fun, joy and happiness in it. Make the correct decisions and you will be on the right path to enjoy these positive experiences in life.
