How to feel better after radiation treatment or after exposure to radiation from other sources.
Radiation Exposure and what you should know about it.
They recommend that a person make sure that they are obtaining sufficient amounts of calcium, potassium, and other minerals in your diet.
The reason given for this is that these minerals are similar in structure to the radioactive elements that a person may be exposed to and your body will absorb the radioactive elements because they are so similar in molecular structure to the beneficial minerals. You don't want your body to absorb the radioactive elements, by having enough of the minerals in your body it is more likely that you will not absorb the radiation.
What I did after my cancer diagnosis
The following is a part of my daily routine as a part of my wanting to have a body with a high level of immune system protection. I started a nutrition based routine when I was diagnosed with cancer and have continued it and modified it to the present. My cancer diagnosis was in 2000, I have enjoyed many healthy years since then and I did not do radiation and chemo therapy as a healing method for myself. I took the natural route myself and have not regretted it, but I was already somewhat knowledgeable about the subject and I became an avid student of the subject. My life depended on it. I am not recommending that anyone do this, it was just the way I approached having a cancer diagnosis.
What will protect the body from harmful radiation?
It is my understanding that the same routine I used works well for those who are doing radiation and chemo therapy. I suggest that you talk with your doctor about this, although most doctors are not trained in natural heath methods and may have not learned of these nutrients.
I keep these supplements on hand in case of a terrorists exploding a radioactive device and the wind carrying the radioactive material in the atmosphere to near where I live. I want to limit my exposure to all radioactive substances from all sources and be able to protect myself is I am exposed to radiation.
My daily nutrition based routine
Amino Acids to build up my immune system
I get up in the morning and have a 16 ounce glass of distilled water. With this water I take 500 mg of each of the following:
1. Glutathione
2. NAC a form of L-cysteine
3. L-methionine
These three items are amino acids and it is important that if a person is taking amino acids to be effective they must be taken on an empty stomach and that you not eat for at least an hour.
When I was first diagnosed I would take these three times a day. It was difficult to take them this often because of amino acids only working as I wanted them to on an empty stomach.
An empty stomach means - an hour and a half to two hours after a meal and one hour before the next meal. I found that I would end up taking my third set in the middle of the night with only eight ounces of water. I drank less water at night because I didn't want to be getting up all night long going to the bathroom.
It is good to start your day with lots of water to keep the toxins flowing out as much as possible. I believe that distilled water works best as a transport of good nutrients into your body and as and excellent transport of toxins out of the body.
Calcium and magnesium to help prevent the absorption of the radioactive materials
I found that for me Coral Calcium with the minerals in it worked best. Another good calcium is Calcium Citrate Plus. Just be sure to get your Calcium with Vitamin D and Magnesium as these substances help the calcium be absorbed better.
Here is an important but not well know fact about calcium:
- Calcium is absorbed best when you will be resting and off of your feet.
- Calcium should not be taken with a meal.
- With the factor of optimum absorption being considered I have found that the best time to take my calcium was right before bedtime.
Another fact about calcium is that it relaxes you and help you to sleep more relaxed. Magnesium helps you get a restful sleep as well because it relaxes some of the muscles.
If I would have allowed the doctors to use radiation treatments on me I would have taken a full set of minerals, plus calcium and magnesium before going in for my treatments and I would have taken calcium and magnesium more than once during the days before and after treatment.
If you have to take your calcium near the time when you have a meal then take the calcium somewhat after the meal, a least thirty minutes.
Just don't take food or calcium at the same time as you take the amino acids. This is because it will lessen the affect of the amino acids as they work to increase the function of your immune system.
Kelp protects against radiation
I take my kelp with what I call my "green drink". I use one teaspoon each of Spirulina, Chlorella, Wheat Grass and Barley along with one quarter of a teaspoon of Kelp in a sixteen ounce glass of distilled water.
Many people say that they would never drink this mixture because it tastes bad. In fact I have heard them say I would rather die first. Really...
The way I approach my daily "green drink" is first of all I'm highly motivated to live and this drink is for the highly motivated. There are so many positive ways that this green drink is beneficial to a persons health. I never found this drink to be that unpleasant and there are times I will crave this drink. I do put a teaspoon of bee pollen in my green drink, but this is for the energy mostly.
Do you crave sweets?
I find that most people crave sweets. People who are very ill often have a huge craving for sweets. This is our body trying to get some extra energy. But this is also our body on self destruct mode. Sweets compromise the immune systems ability to work properly. Let me put this another way - sweets are bad for your immune system. Sweets cause your immune system to shut down. Having your immune system shut down is not a good thing.
Do I crave sweets? You bet I crave sweets. I mostly crave sweets in the evening. What I have taught myself to do when I am craving sweets is to go and have a "green drink". Now this is the way to show your body and yourself that you are ready for life. It works every time the sweet craving goes away. This is because you are craving sweets because your body is calling out for more energy. You can give your body more energy in the form of a healthy green drink, it works for me every time.
